The day consists of:

  • a Mock OSCE similar to your assessments where students who have already sat their exams will give you feedback and tips on your performance

  • Speciality Teaching Sessions whereby senior students will give you a quick whistle-stop tour of each speciality you will be examined on (Orthopaedics, Emergency Medicine, Rheumatology, Ophthalmology)

  • an Interactive Viva Session whereby a Senior Orthopaedic Trainee will prepare you for the daunting Viva station

This is student led, and is not organised by the university but will be great revision for students from all academies for their upcoming exam.

How do I take part?

All Year 3 students should receive an email sent out via Galenicals with the link to sign-up to participate. We will also be posting adverts via facebook, twitter, or instagram; you should similarly be able to find the link through these adverts.

If you have not received word from us, please send us an e-mail so that we can send you the sign-up link individually.

Make sure to sign up in time as we allocate places on a first-come-first-served basis. If you e-mail us too late, we cannot guarantee a spot for you in the Mock OSCE.

Where: Chemistry Building, Cantock Cl, Bristol, BS8 1TS

(Next session: Saturday, 25 May 2019)

Timings: 09:00 - 16:00 split over STREAMS 1,2,3

Have you sat your MDEMO Exams and want to get involved?

We are always on the look-out for volunteer examiners, actors, and speciality teachers for the event. It's great for your revision, and you get a certificate for teaching which you can add to your portfolio!

Similarly you should find the sign-up link through the Galenicals e-mail or through adverts from our social media pages. Send us an e-mail if you're interested!
